SVG to PNG

Drop your SVG files, set the width and the scale, download the PNG files. The work runs in your browser, so your files stay on your computer.

SVG

Your files never leave your computer

How it works

  1. Choose your SVG files or drag them into the drop area.
  2. Type the width and pick the scale: 1x, 2x or 3x.
  3. Press Make PNG and download the files.

Why this tool

  • Files stay on your computer. There is no upload.
  • You set the width. The height comes from the ratio.
  • Scale 2x and 3x for high density screens.
  • The background stays clear, or takes the color you pick.
  • Output at 2x and 3x gets an @2x or @3x name suffix.

An SVG is a drawing recipe. It holds no pixels. Lines, curves and colors are written as math. That is why it stays sharp at any size and why the file is small. The problem is the places that refuse SVG: social media uploaders, most office documents, email templates, some print systems and app icon sets.

This tool renders the vector with the browser drawing engine at the size you ask for, then writes a PNG. The height comes from the ratio of the file, so nothing gets squeezed.

The scale option is for screen density. If a logo appears 240 pixels wide in an interface, type 240 and pick 2x. The output is 480 pixels and stays sharp on a dense screen. The name gets an @2x suffix, so you do not mix up the sets.

Fonts cause the most trouble. Text inside an SVG draws correctly only when the font is installed. If it is not, the browser falls back to a similar face and the layout shifts. Convert text to paths in your design program and the risk goes away.

To build a favicon, "Favicon Generator" turns an SVG into an ICO and a PNG set together.

Frequently asked questions

Do my files go to a server?

No. The work runs in your browser. Your file never leaves your computer.

Which width do I pick?

Use the pixel width of the place it will sit. For a logo shown at 240 pixels, type 240 and pick 2x. The result is 480 pixels and stays sharp on a dense screen.

Are the fonts kept?

Only fonts installed on the system draw correctly. The safe way is to convert text to paths in your design program. An SVG cannot download a font here.

Why PNG and not SVG?

SVG stays sharp at any size and is smaller. Move to PNG only when the target program refuses vectors. Social media, office documents and some email tools ask for PNG.

Does a clear background work?

Yes. Clear is the default. You can also pick white or your own color.

What is the largest output?

Up to 8192 pixels wide. With the scale, the limit is 16384 pixels.
