How it works

  1. Choose your photos or drag them into the drop area.
  2. Pick the angle. Select a horizontal or vertical flip if you need one.
  3. Press Apply and download the files.

Why this tool

  • Your photos stay on your computer. There is no upload.
  • Four angles: none, 90, 180 and 270 degrees.
  • Horizontal and vertical flips are separate options.
  • A rotation and a flip run together in one pass.
  • Fix up to 50 photos in one run.

Phone photos lie on their side in some programs. The cause is the gap between the direction the sensor records and the layout inside the file. The phone always writes the frame the same way and puts the correct direction in an EXIF tag. Browsers and gallery apps read that tag. Older image programs, some upload forms and print tools do not. So a photo that looks right to you looks sideways to someone else.

This tool makes the fix permanent. The image is drawn again at the angle you pick and saved that way. From then on it stands correctly, even when nobody reads the tag.

The angles are multiples of 90 degrees. That has a technical benefit. The pixels move to new places and no in-between values are calculated. So the rotation itself adds no blur. The only loss comes from the output compression, and a quality above 90 handles that.

A flip is a different job. A horizontal flip fixes the mirrored view from a selfie camera. But it also mirrors any text in the frame. Be careful with signs, plates and printed shirts.

To clear the EXIF tag as well, see "Remove EXIF Data".

Frequently asked questions

Do my photos go to a server?

No. The work runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves your computer.

Why does my photo look sideways?

A phone always writes the frame in one direction and puts the correct direction in an EXIF tag. Some programs ignore that tag. Rotating and saving fixes it for good.

Does the quality drop?

At 90, 180 and 270 degrees the pixels move. They are not recalculated. Any loss comes from the compression of the output format. Keep the quality above 90.

What is the difference between flip and rotate?

A rotation turns the frame and keeps the content. A flip mirrors the image, so text becomes unreadable. Use a horizontal flip to fix a selfie.

Can I do both at once?

Yes. The flip runs first, then the rotation. You get the result in one pass.

What are the limits?

200 MB per file and 50 files per run. Pro allows 2 GB per file.
