How it works

  1. Choose one photo or drag it into the drop area.
  2. Drag the frame, size it from the corners, lock a ratio if you need one.
  3. Press Crop and download the result.

Why this tool

  • Your photo stays on your computer. There is no upload.
  • Ready ratios: free, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and 9:16.
  • Type your own ratio, for example 4:5.
  • You can also type the pixel values of the frame.
  • Output can match the source, or be JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

A crop is the simplest photo fix. Something unwanted sits at the edge of the frame: a person walking past, the corner of a desk, a toolbar in a screenshot. A crop removes it and puts the subject in the middle.

The tool shows the photo on the page. Drag the frame to move it. Use the eight handles to size it. The frame values are real pixels of the source photo, not of the small view on screen. So if you select a 1200 pixel area in a 6000 pixel photo, the result is 1200 pixels wide.

The ratio list saves time. Use 1:1 for a profile picture, 16:9 for a video cover, and 9:16 for a phone story. For a print ratio such as 4:5, select "Custom" and type two numbers. With a locked ratio, the shape stays correct however you drag.

For most jobs, keep the output the same as the source. A JPG photo stays JPG. A transparent PNG stays transparent. Choose WebP only when the file size matters most.

After the crop, go to "Resize Image" from the result screen to set an exact size.

Frequently asked questions

Does my photo go to a server?

No. The work runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves your computer.

What is the difference from resize?

A crop changes the frame and throws away the edges. A resize keeps the frame and changes the pixel count. You can use one after the other.

Why does it take only one file?

The crop area is different in every photo. A batch crop gives a wrong frame. If you need many files at one size, use fill and crop in "Resize Image".

Can I set the frame by pixels?

Yes. Type numbers in the width, height and position fields in the side panel. The values are real pixels of the source photo.

Does the quality drop?

The cropped area is written again. For JPG and WebP, keep the quality at 90 and you see no change. PNG is lossless.

Can I get AVIF output?

Chrome and Firefox write AVIF. Safari 17 and later gives partial support. If your browser cannot write it, AVIF is not in the list.
