Why this tool
- Your files stay on your computer. There is no upload.
- The order in the list is the order in the output. Change it by dragging.
- You can mix formats. Every input moves to a common setting first.
- The output is MP3 or WAV. For MP3 you pick the bit rate.
- You can also add a video file, and it takes the audio only.
Recordings often arrive in parts. A meeting the phone saved as three files, an audiobook read chapter by chapter, a podcast intro with the main track, or your own playlist.
The tool joins the files in list order. Drag them in the list to change the order. The first file plays at the start and the last file plays at the end. The sources can be in different formats. Each input first moves to 44.1 kHz and a stereo layout, then they are joined. This way, no speed or channel difference appears at a transition.
The output is one of two formats. MP3 is small and plays everywhere. You pick the bit rate: 128, 192 or 320 kbps. WAV is lossless but large. One hour of stereo takes about 600 MB. Pick WAV for a file that goes into an editor, and MP3 for a file you share.
The tool does not do two things. It does not level the volume between files, so a difference is audible at a transition when the sources were recorded at different levels. It also adds no crossfade and no silence. The files are joined with no gap.
The work runs in your browser and your files stay on your computer. The audio engine downloads once, about 30 MB, and stays in the cache.
Frequently asked questions
