Sending a table as a spreadsheet is often the wrong call. The reader clicks a cell and sees your formula, changes a value by accident, opens a broken file in another version, or cannot open it at all on a phone. A PDF closes those gaps: the numbers stay fixed, the layout holds and the file opens everywhere.
LibreOffice on our server does the conversion. Cell formats, number formats, colors, borders, frozen headers and charts all move into the PDF. Formulas stay out of the output, because the PDF shows calculated results. For a month-end report, a price list or a budget summary, that is normally the point.
Wide tables cause the most trouble. A sheet with twenty columns does not fit an A4 width, so the columns split across pages. To avoid that, set the print area, the scale and the page orientation in Excel or LibreOffice before you send the file. The PDF output follows those settings.
Your file travels over an encrypted connection and is deleted as soon as the job ends, within 1 hour at the latest. If the PDF comes out large, "Compress PDF" makes it smaller.
Frequently asked questions
Does my file go to a server?
Yes. LibreOffice on our server does the conversion. The file travels over an encrypted connection and is deleted when the job ends, within 1 hour at the latest.
Will a wide table fit the page?
The page setup is read from the file. A very wide table splits its columns across pages. Set the print area and the scale in Excel first for a clean result.
Are all sheets converted?
Yes. The sheets in the workbook go into the PDF in order. To keep one sheet only, delete the others before you send the file.
What happens to the formulas?
The PDF shows the calculated results. The formulas themselves stay out of the output, which is usually what you want when the file leaves your office.
What are the limits?
Free use allows 50 MB per file and 20 jobs per day. Pro allows 2 GB per file.
Do charts come across?
Yes. Charts and the appearance of conditional formatting are carried into the PDF.
